You can Now Get the Starbucks Card via iPhone’s Passbook and iOS 6

Starbucks announced that you can now get its Starbuck Card with the Apple passbook.  They are now integrated.  Yeah!  If you own a new iPhone 5 with iOS 6, you can use your phone to get coffee.

If you already have the Starbucks iPhone App, you will need to push on the feature that says “add Passbook.”  To pay for it, just swipe the Starbucks pass on the Passbook screen on your phone.  You will then need to show the barcode that is on the screen to a Starbucks barcode reader in order to pay for your coffee.

When you go in to your local Starbucks, your phone will instantly show the Starbucks Card on your screen.

Starbucks also makes it possible for this technology to be used with Android phones too.  The bar-coding process has been available for about a year.  Starbucks says that they opted not to linger around to rollout this technology for smartphones and terminals.

Nice feature for iPhone’s pass book and iOS 6. This could be very convenient when paying for your cups on Starbucks and you don’t have much cash. I’ll give this a try on how this thing works. :)
