Apple Released iOS 6.1.1 Update to Fix Performance and Wifi Connection Issues

Apple this morning (February 11, 2013) releases an over-the-air update to iOS 6 dubbed iOS 6.1.1. The update (we’re confirmed) fixes performance and reliability as well as Wifi connection issues with iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and other Apple devices. The is the second such update Apple releases in a 2 month period. iOS 6.0.1 was released exactly 1 month ago to this date. The update also works for iPhone 4.

Another one of Many IOS 6 Issues Found and it’s Not Apple Maps!

Apple’s iOS 6 just keeps on turning up problems.  It appears that there is a problem when it comes to checking the weather.  For instance, check the weather for New York City, New York via your new iPhone 5 and you will get the weather report for New York, Texas.  What! What is going on and who cares about New York, Texas?  But according to Siri, it was 91 degrees there. This is a huge difference from the cooler temperatures in New York City, New York.

Your iPhone 5 iOS6 Runs Hotter Than Sahara Desert in the Summer? Read for Tips / Tricks

Is your brand new iPhone 5 running iOS6 giving your face and hands 3rd degree burns and draining your battery? if so, you’re not alone. Apple recently admitted that a few of the iPhone 5 handset are defected and are willing to replace them free of charge at any Apple store. However, before you run the the Apple store and wait for 1 1/2 hours to be seen by an Apple Care specialist and technicians like I did try a few troubleshooting and diagnosis tips/tricks I got from the specialist who handled my iPhone 5. The fix above worked for me but did not for my wife so I had to take her iPhone 5 to the nearest Apple Store.

Even though everyone is happy with Apple’s new iPhone 5, they aren’t too happy with the iOS 6 software.  Apple stop using Google Maps and went with other mapping alternatives.  Obviously, this makes many users very unhappy. If you are experiencing problems with your mapping system, you are probably wondering why Apple made such a drastic change. Sure, Apple and Google have been at odds for a while, but that is not the only reason for this change. Besides, if Apple really wanted to play dirty, it could have just used Bing as its new default iPhone search engine.

You can upgrade your iPhone to the new iOS in two ways, which are via iTunes or via the air with iCloud on iPhone’s settings. If you refused to get in a long line at your nearest Apple Store or reserve your iPhone 5 via a pre-order, you still have a chance to get an upgrade for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to the new iOS that was just released by Apple.  Let’s backup and state that this is a good possibility that you can upgrade what you have now because Apple’s new iOS can be used with a majority of current and older generation equipment.  Apple says that its new iOS 6 will work with the iPhone 3GS, iiPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5.
